Zimbabwe, once known as the breadbasket of Africa, boasted the highest literacy rate in Africa, an excellent education system, a highly competent medical service and a world renowned agricultural sector.
Sadly, the economy collapsed, and this has had a devastating effect on social and commercial infrastructure. The general population of the country have endured very severe conditions and faced incomprehensible challenges. Poverty and unemployment have taken a terrible toll on the majority of people who daily struggle to survive, raise and educate their families in order to live a ‘normal’ life!
However….
Zimbabwe remains a country of hope and promise and the people of the land are remarkable in their resilience and ability to love, forgive and smile.
They believe that their country will once more be known as the breadbasket of Africa and they are working together, uniting, breaking down what were once ‘walls of division’ and are linking hands and making it work.
